More About Zillakami

According to HotNewHiphop, he was the first to create trap metal. Rogers was born in the town of Bay Shore in the state of New York.

Rogers started a punk rock band called Scud Got Quayle with some of his school friends in his teens, influenced by Gorilla Biscuits' style. He got his start in hip hop by ghostwriting for fellow New York rapper 6ix9ine.

During this time, he wrote a song that he meant to have two vocalists on, to which 6ix9ine responded by telling him that he should be on the track, which was eventually released under the name "Yokai," and the two then collaborated on another song called "Hellsing Station."

However, the two had a falling out in August 2017, when Rogers tweeted a photo of 6ix9ine participating in a sexual act with a girl he claimed was thirteen, exposing his previous guilty plea to exploiting a kid in a sexual performance.

ZillaKami was founded in 2017. "LifeIsAHorrorMovie," his first EP, was published on April 30, 2017. He later took it down since he no longer liked the music on it.

Soon after, ZillaKami made contact with SosMula, the son of the owner of the tattoo shop where his older brother Righteous P worked. SosMula and ZillaKami created the City Morgue a few days after his release from prison on narcotics charges. After a series of singles over the previous two years, they released their first EP as a group in August 2018, titled "Be Patient."

In the year 2018, ZillaKami. On September 5, 2018, he appeared on Denzel Curry's third album, Ta13oo, on the single "Vengeance," which also included JPEGMafia. In the same month, he made an appearance on Lil Gnar's track "Man Down."

City Morgue released their debut album "City Morgue Vol 1: Hell or High Water" on October 12, 2018, and their headline tour in support of it sold out quickly.

On November 29, 2018, Powers Pleasant released "Please Forgive." At the same time, he was on the track with Jay IDK, Zombie Juice, and Denzel Curry.

He was a part of City Morgue, which included Turnstile, Denzel Curry, Trash Talk, Pouya, Germ, Shoreline Mafia, and Night Lovell, on the Suicideboys' Grey Day tour from July 24 to August 23.

City Morgue released their second album, City Morgue Vol 2: As Good As Dead, on December 13, 2019. The album's deluxe edition, which includes numerous new tracks, was published on May 15, 2020.

City Morgue released their mixtape "Toxic Boogaloo" on July 31, 2020.Rogers' debut solo album, "Dog Boy," was released on September 17, 2021.

Zillakami in Recent News

"Evil Twin" by Powers Pleasant features Denzel Curry and Zillakami.

Powers Pleasant, the multi-platinum producer and Pro Era's backbone, announced his return with "Evil Twin," a new two-minute single starring Denzel Curry and ZillaKami.

Powers' new song is his first since his 2019 solo EP Life Is Beautiful, which includes the popular tune "Pull Up," which has over 70 million plays and features ASAP Ferg and Joey Badass.

The EP also includes "Please Forgive," a collaboration between Powers, Denzel Curry, and Zillakami that sounded meek in comparison to "Evil Twin's" bass-heavy beat. Two MCs shout very loudly in their distinctive gruff voices in this song. The production, on the other hand, is harsh and glitchy, and the two MCs are always at risk of getting eaten by it.

In an interview with Uproxx in 2019, the Pro Era co-founder discussed his group's distinct aesthetic.

He added of the New York rap ensemble, "We are here to stay and there is no box." Whatever the fuck we want, we're going to do it. I despise the stereotype that New York rap has to sound a specific way, which is perpetuated by the old OGs. Anything that does not evolve will perish. New York City is changing. We're not going to sound the same as we have in the past. Of course, because we're from New York, there will be ego, cockiness, and violence. We'll make music the way we want to do it.

In Zillakami's new album, he takes Hip-Hop to a new level of ferocity

"Gucci Gang" is currently the country's No. 4 song. "Gummo" by Tekashi69 is at No. 13, and "Kooda," his most recent song, is at No. 61. XXXTENTACION, Famous Dex, and Trippie Redd all have places on the mainstream chart, which tracks the most popular songs in the United States.

Whatever you think of the new crop of young rappers who were formerly deemed online sensations, there's an evident shift in the air. For better or worse, performers who were formerly referred to as "SoundCloud rappers" have now become part of mainstream culture and are pushing hip-popular hip hop's sounds, styles, and feelings into new terrain.

This new wave looked to have achieved its logical conclusion with overdone bass, screaming vocals, face tattoos, jarringly short music, and aggressive lyrics. It's difficult to conceive how to take things a step farther if you've ever heard "Take A Step Back" or watched Tekashi69 perform. You can't possibly get louder, wilder, or more surprising than this.

Simply watch "SHINNERS 13."

Zillakami is a New York-based musician who previously collaborated with Tekashi69 before their feud, and while being active on Twitter and Instagram, there isn't much information about him. He texted us back when we asked for more information "I like to remain anonymous, so whatever you can find right now is all you'll get. I'll be more social after the next video. Before I receive any kind of attention, I just want a great catalog."

Zillakami's production has been limited thus far, but it already conveys a vision that is loud, powerful, and shocking. Death, masochism, and drugs are all mentioned in the lyrics. "Shinners 13" has a toddler with an automatic firearm, heavy drugs, a murder, and flaming skateboards, among other harsh sights. It's all portrayed with a rawness that reminds me of Harmony Korine's film "Kids," in the sense that it's difficult to distinguish what's real and what's not.

Before the video turns to the young rapper in the middle of the street blasting a gun in the air, Zillakami announces his approach with haste, saying, "I'm tired of y'all n****s actin' crazy and shit!" It only gets wilder from there. In terms of music, Zillakami is increasing the ante by adopting a visceral, brutal style that feels both fresh and intriguing. It's the most brutal rap music since Necro, but in today's context, Zillakami and his cohorts appear to have a real chance of becoming anything more than a niche underground interest.

The majority of people who see it will be offended, and some of them will be unhappy that we're even covering it. But it's happening, and it'll have an impact on culture in some way. It's important to be aware of this so you can either accept or reject it. You can't change anything if you don't realize it's happening. Tupac linked his lyrics about the brutal realities of drugs and violence to news coverage of Vietnam, explaining that people didn't start protesting until they watched young troops dying on television. Ignoring isn't a viable option at some point, regardless of which side you're on.

With over 300,000 views and no major media coverage, the "SHINNERS 13" video begs the question: is this an indication of one part of rap's future? Hip-hop has never been more diverse—room for Kendrick Lamar, Lil Pump, and Drake to coexist—but where is this new wave of alternative rap headed, and how long will it be labeled alternative?
